The April 30th evening celebrates Made in the USA Fashion & Design
The designer aims to bring awareness to the growing “Made In USA” movement that is currently focused on ‘re-shoring’ clothing manufacturing stateside. Regarding this purpose Laura comments,
“It is really important to re-invigorate our economy for the long term. My contribution is to up the ante on manufacturing well-made clothing right here in Southern Arizona”.
The Honored Guest of the event is Dennita Sewell of the Phoenix Art Museum. Dennita’s recent work in curating the Museum’s “Fashioned in America” exhibit and in working on the hit documentary, “Make it in America: Empowering Global Fashion“, are notable achievements that deserve admiration.
Several other local designers will also be attending the event to celebrate US and Tucson-made garments.
