4 Spring Trends & How to Wear Them

“What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language.”
– Miuccia Prada

What language will you speak this spring? What will you say with your very own language of fashion? Here in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tucson we adore spring. Spring brings us just what we love! Flowers, warm mornings and evenings, delightful baby Gambel’s quail in our yards. Laura Tanzer is a sustainable luxury women’s clothing designer, specializing in natural fibers, craftsmanship, quality, and perfect fit. All garments are made in U.S.A. Here, we bring you some of our favorite trends and styles for spring.

4 Spring Trends & How to Wear Them

Trend: Sustainable Fashion

I’ve been doing it all along, and now Vogue tells us that sustainable fashion is big for Spring 2020. My brand has always been all about sustainability. Read my sustainability statement. Superb craftsmanship and quality fabrics, with durability and longevity in mind. We utilize remnants from our production to produce additional products. Nothing goes to waste! Remnants are repurposed and up-cycled to produce our one of a kind “frammento” garments, as well as totes and accessories. The smallest scraps are donated to schools and to organizations such as the Girl Scouts for art programs.

Trend: Prints

Retro prints may have ruled certain runways, but I use my own photographs as inspiration. For example: my springtime photograph taken near Kyoto, Japan. This Zen-like print is digitally printed onto soft cotton knit and artistically formed into a slim leg pant that, while on-trend, is super sophisticated wearable art. I paired the slim leg pant with my wear-everywhere white cotton trapeze top.

Same digital print, different style. My Japanese Zen print on cotton voile, cut and draped to a create a loose, flowy, and flattering wrap-around pant. I paired the wrap around pant with my linen kimono jacket.

Trend: Linen

Warm days and cool evenings. Allow me to present: the damask linen jacket. A show-stopper. Truly unique, each is made from antique damask table linen. Oh, the stories these jackets can tell!  We’ve paired this jacket with our bateau top made from the same vintage table linen, and our yoke panel skirt in black Italian viscose.

Stay cool on warmer days with natural fibers. Red Book Magazine featured my antique damask table linen tunic on the cover of their Feb 2020 Design Issue.  The article “Fashion’s New Norm”, describes the growth of sustainable fashion. I’m so glad that sustainable fashion is becoming a “thing”!

Trend: White

Ushering in spring with white is always a fantastic way to start the season. Our whites are mainly natural, soft, cotton and linen. To showcase this trend, we present to you: the white cotton bateau top with cotton ribbon. Shown with my luxurious designer pant, which is embellished by a side accent featuring my Venice digital print. This pant is available in gold Italian linen, and a sumptuous white cotton brocade.
