Designer of sustainably chic, quality engineered clothing Wins Coveted Prize

Tucson, AZ (October 17, 2016) This past Friday, October 14, 2016, Laura Tanzer WON the Emerging Designer Competition at Phoenix Fashion week, held every year at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. Phoenix Fashion Week bridges emerging designers with buyers.  “I’m very proud of Laura Tanzer and the collection she built this year, and more impressed with how she is going to continue to push Arizona fashion forward”, Brian Hill, Executive Director of Phoenix Fashion Week.

Laura Tanzer, headquartered in Tucson Arizona, said, “My team and I are very proud to have been able to participate in this program.  The Phoenix Fashion Week Emerging Designer boot camp was a lot of work, and it helped me refine my business model.   Winning Emerging Designer of the Year is recognition for the hard work my team and I put in, and will dramatically boost our brand awareness.  That brand awareness should help us develop new relationships with boutiques where clientele can enjoy and experience the quality and fit of my designs first-hand!”

“The woman who wears our clothes looks great because the fit is engineered to conform to her body – engineered to conform to a variety of body types by using bespoke techniques in the creation of our styles. The woman who looks great exudes confidence and beauty.”

A perk for the PHXFW Designer of the Year is collaboration with Evine (Evine.com) to sell selected Tanzer designs to 88 million viewers on the Evine cable, satellite and broadcast television network.  “Evine is an ultra-fun, digital retailer offering exciting brands and unique products to customers around the country.” The collaboration will introduce the Laura Tanzer aesthetic to a whole new clientele.

The Laura Tanzer collection is Made in the USA by skilled sewing technicians. The Made in the USA label represents quality in a garment, and reflects the designer’s focus not only on beautiful design, but on the economic path that sustains that design: important inputs include creating local and national skilled jobs, minimizing wasteful practices, timeliness to market, and pride of craft.
